Fluorosilicone Room Temperature Vulcanized Silicone Rubber
< >

Overview

Type 109 silicone rubber is a low-viscosity, linear, hydroxyl-terminated poly(methyl-3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)siloxane. It is synthesized by polymerizing siloxane monomers, with hydroxyl groups at both molecular chain ends.

In addition to the general properties of hydroxyl-terminated methyl silicone oils, this material features excellent oil resistance. It is a colorless, transparent liquid with outstanding electrical insulation and wide service temperature range (–60 °C to +250 °C). It also offers a high flash point, low pour point, small viscosity-temperature coefficient, high compressibility, low surface tension, excellent water repellency and moisture resistance, chemical inertness, and physiological compatibility.

Applications

Primarily used as a base material in RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanized) fluorosilicone rubber.

Due to its excellent electrical insulation, it is suitable for radio, electronic instruments, semiconductors, and electronic components and assemblies, serving as an insulating, moisture-proof, oil-resistant, and heat-resistant encapsulating material.
